The average fuel consumption for light-duty vehicles (LDVs) in Indonesia is 8.1 liters of gasoline equivalent per 100 kilometers (Lge/100 km). This is 13% higher than the global average.
Fuel efficiency, or fuel economy, is the distance a vehicle can travel on a given amount of fuel. It’s commonly measured in liters per 100 kilometers, which is how many liters of fuel a car needs to travel 100 kilometers. The lower the number of liters, the better the fuel economy.
To achieve its goal of 2 million electric vehicles (EVs) by 2030, Indonesia would need to reduce fuel consumption from 6.7 L/100 km in 2024 to 3.1 L/100 km by 2030. This would require a 12.1% annual reduction in fuel consumption across all vehicles.
